David Newble
David was born in the UK and graduated in Medicine from Edinburgh University before migrating to Australia in 1965.

He pursued his career as a physician and medical academic in Adelaide until returning to the UK in 1999 to take up a position as Professor of Medical Education at The University of Sheffield. He returned to South Australia in 2004 where he now spends more time pursuing his interest in watercolour painting.

While largely self-taught, he owes much to the tutelage of South Australian artist Lorraine Lewitzka with whom he worked on a regular basis from the mid-80s until he went overseas. In the UK he became a member of the Hallam Art Group in Sheffield. He took part in several art shows in the Peak District and became an exhibiting artist at the Church Farm Art Gallery in Baslow (near Chatsworth House). He has furthered his training by attending workshops by prominent UK, US (Charles Reid) and  Australian (David Taylor,Joseph Zbukvic, Robert Wade) artists.  He has mounted  exhibitions of ‘pen and watercolour’ paintings during the 2006 and 2008 Biennale Festivals in McLaren Vale. He exhibits at Artworx and Red Poles galleries.
