Susan Peter
Although always interested in drawing and painting, my life took other directions until in 1988 after being given a box of pastels, I attended a drawing course at Noarlunga TAFE. This led to life drawing and painting using both pastels and acrylic paint. Since then I have been very fortunate to be able to attend many painting and printmaking workshops held by a wide variety of established artists. I now paint in oils, acrylics and pastels.
As a child my first drawing from life was a bearded dragon found in saltbush at Whyalla and wildlife and natural history subjects have remained a fascinating subject for me and are currently my main focus. I also enjoy painting still life, portraits and figurative studies.
I have taken part successfully in many exhibitions and am a member of:
·Royal South Australian Society of Arts;
·PASA (Pastel Artists of South Australia) - Newsletter Editor 2005 and 2006;
Off The Slate Gallery (founding member) - Secretary for 2005, 2006, 2007.
